Vegan version of Kung Pao Chicken, this Air Fryer Kung Pao Cauliflower is better then takeout. Traditionally, cauliflower is deep fried after a seasoned coating of flour mixture. However, we are making a relatively healthier cauliflower version after air frying. It's simple, easy, and uses only pantry staple ingredients.

I love how versatile the vegetable is cauliflower. You can find simple and delicious recipes across the world. It's delicious, healthy, and, most of all, loved by almost everyone. I love to cook them.
Traditionally, Kung Pao dishes are a little on the drier side and don't appear very saucy; however, you can always make them according to your taste buds.

Ingredients we need,
Cauliflower florets- You can use pre-cut florets from any grocery store or take a medium/small cauliflower and make the florets yourself. The size of the flowers depends on your choice, but I prefer them in medium sizes.
All Purpose flour, Corn starch, Salt, Crushed Pepper, red Pepper Flakes, Crushed Black pepper. They are used in the coating to make cauliflower crispy. Oil for brushing the cauliflower.
For Sauce,
The aromatics are Ginger, garlic, onion, dry red chili, red pepper, and Green pepper scallions. Cashew Nuts/Peanuts.
Soy Sauce, Sesame Oil, Red Chili Sauce/paste, Chinese cooking Wine, Brown Sugar, cornstarch, and 2 tbsp of water.

What to Serve with Kung Pao Cauliflower?
Serve them as a snack or an appetizer. They work perfectly for a game day or after-school snack. They are a spicy, crowd pleaser, and on top of that, they are healthy.
Serve them with rice as a main course. They taste delicious with rice or if you want noodles too.
Serve them as a side to any vegan, vegetarian, or protein dish you choose, just like Teriyaki Tofu, Green Beans & Tofu Stir Fry.

Air Fryer Kung Pao Cauliflower
Ingredients
- 20 Medium Size Cauliflower Florets
- 2 Tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 2 Tbsp Corn Starch
- ¼ Tsp Crushed Black Pepper
- ¼ Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- ¼ Tsp Salt
- oil For Brushing the Cauliflower while air frying.
For Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
- 1 Tsp Red Chili sauce/Paste
- 1 Tbsp Chinese Cooking Wine
- ½ tsp Brown sugar/Maple Syrup
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- ½ Tsp Corn Starch
- 2 Tbsp Water
Aromatics and garnish for cooking
- 1 Tbsp Garlic,chopped/minced
- 1 Tbsp Ginger ,chopped
- 4 Dry Red Chili
- ½ Cup onion/shallot
- ½ Cup Green Bell Pepper
- ½ Cup Red Bell Pepper
- ¼ Cup Chopped Scallion for garnish
- ¼ Cup Cashew Nuts/Peanuts(roasted)
Instructions
- Wash the cauliflower florets. Drain them.Take a bowl .Place cauliflower florets,all purpose flour,corn starch ,red pepper flakes,crushed black pepper,salt.Mix everything together to coat the cauliflower florets perfectly.
- Line an air fryer with a parchment paper. Arrange cauliflower florets and brush them with oil.
- Air fry them at 370 F till they look golden Keep an eye on them and turn them over for once.
- Remove from the air fryer
- Take a pan.Heat sesame oil in it.
- Add minced /chopped garlic ,ginger and dry red chili .Stir it once and let it cook for 30 second. Add red bell pepper,green bell pepper and onion petals.
- Stir for one minute.Take a bowl and mix everything written under sauce mix.
- Add sauce mix to the pan /wok and cook until they start bubbling.
- Add air fried cauliflower to the pan .Mix them to coat perfectly with the sauce.
- Garnish with chopped scallion,cashew Nuts and serve immediately .
- Enjoy.
