What is Air Fryer Loaded Chili Cheese Toast?
Buttered sourdough bread loaded with colorful and crunchy veggies and cheese is air-fried until the bread is crisp and the cheese is melted. This is one of my favorite breakfast items, and it is pretty satisfying and filling.
If you love open-face sandwiches or any snack made from bread, then this recipe is for you. Making this toast is so easy that even teens can do it.
What Veggies to add?
I have kept it simple and added finely chopped green, red, onion, scallion, and serrano peppers. You can always add veggies of your choice. However, I suggest avoiding tomatoes as they make bread soggy.
What type of cheese to add?
I have used shredded mozzarella cheese from Trader Joe's; however, any cheese like Mexican blend, Italian blend, cheddar, or Colby jack will work in this recipe. Feel free to use the cheese of your choice.

Ingredients to use,
Bread—Good quality bread makes all the difference in this recipe. I prefer sourdough, but feel free to use your choice of bread.
Cheese—I have used grated Mozzarella cheese, but you can choose any cheese or cheese blend, as I said earlier.
Veggies- Any veggie mix of your choice.
Seasoning- I have used a blend of chili flakes, black pepper, and Italian Cheese.
Butter, ghee, or olive oil is used to toast the bread.
How can you prevent bread from turning soggy before packing it in lunch boxes?
After you air fry or make it crispy in the oven, place it on a wire rack for some time. This will help the bread toast to cool down and stay crisp and fresh for a long time. While packing, place a paper towel underneath the bread(inside the box). That will help absorb any moisture left out. However, eating fresh has its charm.

- Spread butter ,ghee or olive oil on both sides of each bread.
- Place the veggie mix on top of each bread slice.
- Spread cheese on top of each one as well.
- Place them inside an air fryer basket.
- Air Fry them at 375 f till the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.That will take around 7-8 minutes.
- Enjoy it to your fullest.
