Green beans are our family favorite, and I always try to make recipes that are delicious and quicker at the same time. They are suitable for every season, fresh and tasty.
Sometimes, I make Chinese Garlic Green Beans, Air Fryer Green Beans. They are the perfect side to go with any noodles or Asian rice. With Indian food, I make Air Fryer Green Beans & Potato Fry OR Potato and Green Beans Stir Fry.
In this recipe, I have kept everything straightforward and essential. Still, the dish shines. The Aldente blanched green beans are grilled in an air fryer with parmesan and cocktail tomatoes, infused with minced garlic, olive oil, and a few seasoning.
They take 7-8 minutes, and a drizzle of balsamic and a few basil leaves for garnish makes this dish the star of the sides.

Frankly, you can use fresh or frozen beans. Both will work in this recipe. Canned beans are a big no-no in this recipe. They do not have the required texture for making this dish.
I love fresh green beans so I will be partial to them. Using them in the recipe takes an extra five minutes for blanching but gives a perfect crunchy bite.
What type of tomatoes are used?
This recipe makes cherry tomatoes, cocktail melodies, or grape tomatoes look beautiful. They are juicy and pretty-looking tomatoes; however, you can use chopped Roma tomatoes or others in the recipe.
Step-by-step method of making air fryer Italian green beans,
Wash green beans and chop the ends.
Blanched Green Beans
Blanch green beans, drop them in boiling water for one minute, and place them in the cold icy water. This method is called blanching. Mix them with a bit of olive oil and salt.

Shave the parmesan cheese. Chop the cherry tomatoes into halves. Mix with some minced garlic and olive oil.

Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper. Arrange green beans in one layer. Layer them with parmesan cheese and tomatoes. Air fry /grill them at 370 for 7-8 minutes or till the cheese looks melted, the green beans are charred, and the tomatoes burst with flavor.

Helpful tips and Notes,
Instead of green beans, you can use asparagus and give this disha posh makeover.
You can also use Chinese long beans or haricot verts.
I like using minced garlic, but you can use garlic powder.
Any other cheese can be used. For a vegan alternative, either skip the cheese or use vegan cheese.
A drizzle of some lime/lemon juice will enhance the taste.
Air Fryer Italian Green Beans With Tomato
- ½ lb Fresh Green Beans
- 1 Cup Cherry tomato /grape tomato
- ½ Cup Shaved Parmesan Cheese
- 1 Tsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt,to taste
- ¼ Tsp Crushed Black Pepper
- ¼ Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- 4-6 Basil Leaves for garnish.
- 1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
- Wash and dry green beans and blanch them.Mix 1 tbsp of olive oil and a pinch of salt to it.
- Shave the parmesan Cheese. Slice tomatoes into the halves.Drizzle some olive oil on them .Mix them with minced garlic ,salt and pepper.
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment papper.
- Arrange the green beans in one layer .Top it of with shaved parmesan and then cherry tomato halves.
- Air fry them at 370 f for 7-8 minutes or till the cheese melts and the green beans looks charred .
- Garnish with basil leaves and drizzle some balsamic to give it a different dimension.Sprinkle some red pepper flakes.
