High-protein Soya & Oats Kebab. If you are looking for high-protein vegetarian/vegan recipes, you are at the right place. Combined with many spices and herbs, this kebab can be used in wraps, as an appetizer, or as a snack—a perfect weight loss recipe.

Ingredients Needed for the Kebab/Tikki
Soya Chunks - you can always use granules, but we usually have soya chunks at home.
Oats- Steel cut or any good quality oats.
Roasted Gram Flour - or Sattu will work perfectly.
Onion - Chopped red onion gives astounding sharpness to the dish.
Ginger, garlic, and green chili are grated or chopped nicely.
Dry Spices- Salt, Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder, Dry Mango Powder/Anardana Powder, Cumin Powder. These fragrant spices make all the difference between a bland taste and a mouth-awakening tikki.
Fresh herbs: Chopped fresh cilantro or fresh mint. These give the kebab and tikki freshness and fragrance.
Lime/lemon wedges are used to serve this tikki.
How to Cook?
First, soak the soya chunks in hot water for some time. When they are soft, squeeze all the water from them. Use a food processor or a grinder to grind them into a paste. It will be a little coarse.
Second, roast the oats and make powder out of them. You can also use store-bought oat powder.
If using sattu or roasted gram flour, then you can use it directly; however, roast the regular gram flour before using.
Chop everything and prepare everything. Pour everything into a large mixing bowl. Mix everything correctly, and rub some oil into your palms.
Make same size patties/kebabs and tikkis.Air fry them or cook them on both sides on a hot griddle or tawa. Brush with some oil for that moist charred taste and texture.

Can we store them?
Yes, of course. We can store them semi-cooked in a ziplock bag in the freezer for up to one month. Cook them in a pan with a little bit of oil before serving.
You can also store them after cooking. Let them come to room temperature, then store them in a container or ziplock bag in the freezer for up to one month and in the fridge for up to two days.
Make sure you do not store them after defrosting. Do not forget to mark dates on them.
How to Serve?
Serve them hot with your choice of dip or chutney and a side of salad. This will create a perfectly balanced meal.
Why air fry them?
Air fryers use less oil and make them quite crispy, so if you are concerned about oil consumption, I suggest going the air fryer route. This method is hands-free and mess-free as well.
