Crispy, spicy air fryer Masala Arbi.Boiled and peeled arbi/taro roots are sliced thick and then marinated in a lovely dry spice mix, for air frying until they are crispy and golden. If you like this delicious root vegetable, or if you haven't tried it yet, in either case, you should try it to understand how tasty it is.

What Ingredients are needed?
Arbi/Colocasia roots/Taro roots- In this recipe, we use boiled arbi or taro roots and air fry them after mixing with some dry spices.
Dry Spice Powders- Turmeric Powder, Salt, Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin powder, Dry Mango Powder.
Binding Agents- Gram Flour/Chickpea Flour, Rice flour.
A little bit of oil is optional for binding everything together; however, you can always use water instead.
Why air frying?
Since arbi has carbs, we are trying to reduce our fat intake for proper health reasons. Sometimes when we are cooking arbi in a pan it tends to soak lot of oil and here we are trying to avoid that. Air fryer makes them more crispy and takes very little time.
How to cook in an air fryer?
First, preheat the air fryer. Boil the arbi and peel them. Slice them into thick rounds or your favourite shape.
Mix all the spice powders, chickpea flour, and rice flour. Add oil and a little water to make it stick to the arbi. Please place them in the basket of the air fryer. Do not over-crowd them.
Air fry them until they are crispy and golden to your desired level of crispness. They will taste amazing with a little bit of lime juice sprinkled on top and a dollop of green chutney. Enjoy with or without any Indian bread.

Can we store it?
Yes, we can do this very easily. Please keep them in freezer-safe containers and store them in the fridge for 2 to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or a pan before serving.

- Mix all the spice powders and binding agents .Mix them with boiled and sliced arbi.
- Add oil and a little bit of water (like 1 tbsp )and make sure the arbi is coated with spices properly.
- Place the spice coated arbi in the air fryer basket in one layer.Do not over crowd the basket.
- Air Fry them at 350 f till they are crispy and golden.
- Sprinkle some lime juice and garnish with cilantro .Enjoy.
