What is Nasi Goreng?
Nasi Goreng means Fried Rice in Indonesian. Traditionally, it has meat in it. I have made a vegan version of it; it sure is delicious.
This fried rice is slightly sweet from the kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) and a little bit sticky because of its dark color. It's a flavor bomb and will tickle your palate.

Usually, fried rice is best made with leftover rice, So is this Nasi Goreng. Ideally, we should use jasmine rice because it has the perfect texture.
Ingredients,
Rice- Cold jasmine rice, cooked a day before, is ideal for this recipe.
Sauce-sweet soy sauce is ideal for this recipe.
Veggies - your choice of veggies. Garlic for aromatics.
Chili sauce- If you don't have sambal olek, use any chili sauce.
How to Cook?

Step-by-step recipe,
- Take a pan. Add oil to it. When it's hot, add garlic and saute till it looks golden.
- Add all the veggies and saute till it looks cooked.
- Add red chili sauce and sweet soy sauce, and mix everything.
- Add cooked rice and mix everything properly. Garnish with scallion and enjoy.
Can we freeze it?
Store them in small one-serving freezer-safe boxes. Heat the rice before serving, and do not store them back. That is why the single-serve container.
How to serve?
If you eat eggs, serve a fried egg with Nasi goreng and a few cucumber slices for freshness.

- Heat the wok /Pan and add the sesame oil.
- Add chopped garlic and saute till they look golden.
- Add all the veggies and saute until they are cooked through ,al dente.
- Add Red Chili Paste/Sauce or Sambal paste.
- Mix properly and add kecap Manis and dark soy sauce to it.
- Add cooked jasmine rice and mix everything. Garnish with scallion and sprinkle some lime juice.
