Tofu Stir Fry. This dish involves crispy tofu and crunchy vegetable stir fry with a delicious chilli garlic sauce. This sauce-coated tofu and vegetables are finger-licking delicious, super easy to cook and serve as a main course or side dish. Additionally, it is vegan and kid-approved.

Have you ever tried a recipe that made you wonder how something could be so delicious while being so simple to make? Well, after making this tofu stir fry, I went into utter disbelief after creating something which is tasty, as well as easy enough that any beginner cook can make it.
This tofu and green vegetable stir fry is one of the dishes I choose to make when I have less time on hand and the family wants something healthy and delicious. This recipe is best for using all those beautiful green vegetables which are sitting in the fridge.
What Type of Tofu is Used in This Recipe?
Extra-firm tofu is the best for stir-fry recipes. I have used organic extra firm tofu from my local store, and they were really good in this dish. Extra-firm tofu holds the shape while frying /air frying, baking, and sauteeing. Additionally, it's easy to make them crispy and crunchy.
How to Remove Water from Tofu-
Pressing tofu with a tofu press helps a lot. If you don't have a tofu press at home, however, you need to use lots of paper towels for pressing this. Remove the tofu from the packet and wrap it in thick layers of paper towel. Keep a heavy object on top of that. It takes around 30 minutes for them to remove water. You can increase the time but I have seen that 30 minutes with extra firm tofu is the best. It suits the texture, and a coating of dry cornflour and spice mixture makes the tofu super crispy and tasty.
What Type of Vegetables are Used in this Recipe?
Use whatever you like is the best answer. However, there are a few vegetables that are used in stir-fries. These are green vegetables like broccoli, snap peas, bok choy, zucchini, and scallions. Besides that, carrots, green beans, and colored peppers are a few.

Making of Tofu Stir Fry
First, press the tofu. Then, cube it and coat it with cornflour. After that, deep fry, air fry or bake them. Keep them aside. Then, take small, compact broccoli, and break the florets. Blanch them, and dip them in cold ice water to retain the crunch and colour.
Next, chop all the vegetables into big pieces. Make a sauce mix of soy sauce, red chilli sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and sesame oil.
Then, take a wok and heat ½ tbsp oil to it. When it's hot enough, add all the vegetables and stir fry them on high flame for 1-1.5 minutes. Season them with salt and pepper and remove them onto a plate.
In a wok/pan again add oil. After that, add chopped garlic and let it caramelize on high flame for 30 seconds. Add the sauce mix to it. Stir it around for 30 seconds and add tofu to it.
Saute tofu in the sauce so that they are coated nicely. Add all the vegetables and mix them. Do it on high flame. Add green onion for garnish. Remove onto a big platter and enjoy with some rice, or by itself.

Tofu Stir Fry
Ingredients
For Crispy Tofu
- 12 Oz Extra Firm Tofu
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder+Salt
- ¼ Tsp Crushed Black pepper
- 3 Tbsp Corn Starch
For Vegetables
- 1 Cup Broccoli florets(Blanched)
- ½ Cup Snap Peas
- 1 Cup Zucchini, chopped
- ½ Cup Onion
- ½ Cup Peppers
- ½ Cup Green Onion ,chopped
- 1 Tsp Oil
For Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Red Chili Sauce
- 1 Tsp Vinegar
- 1 Tsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tsp Oil
- 1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic
- 3 Tbsp Water
- 1 Tsp Corn Starch
Instructions
How to Prepare Crispy Tofu
- Press the tofu. Make cubes of it.
- Mix corn flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Coat tofu with this cornflour mix.
- Air fry, deep fry, or bake the tofu.
- I air-fried them at 400 f for 8-9 minutes.
Preparation of Vegetables
- Take a wok. Add oil and heat it.
- Add onion first. Stir it for 30 seconds.
- Add all the other vegetables. Saute on high heat.
- Remove it onto a plate.
Making of Stir Fry
- Take wok/pan, and add oil. Heat it.
- Add chopped garlic to it.
- Caramelize it. Mix all the sauces, brown sugar, and sesame oil, and add that to pan.
- Add water mixed with corn flour to it.
- Let it cook for 1 minute till it becomes a little thick.
- Add tofu and vegetables to it. Stir them with the sauce and switch off the flame.
- Remove them onto a serving plate.
- Enjoy!!
