In Indian vegetarian cuisine, Paneer is quite popular because it is delicious and protein-rich. My family loves paneer dishes, so I always try to make different and new recipes for them.
What is Gochujang Paneer?
Korean Gochujang is the primary ingredient in the sauce mix. It is a thick and sticky Korean red chili paste made of glutinous rice, fermented soybean red pepper flakes, salt, and a little bit of sugar. This sauce has a different level of spice. You can choose according to your taste.
I have tossed the crispy paneer in a sauce made of gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, scallions, garlic, and fresh chilies. I have also tossed some crunchy veggies in the sauce, elevating this dish's level.

Can I use tofu Instead?
Yes. For vegan alternatives, extra firm tofu can be used. Ideally, you can use your choice of protein or any vegetable.
How to make paneer crispy?
I used cornstarch mixed with a few spices to coat the paneer pieces. Make sure to coat them well and remove the excess cornstarch. You can cube the paneer pieces or tear them into bite-size pieces.
I have shallow-fried them in hot oil for a crispy texture. However, they can also be air-fried, deep-fried, or baked.

How to make Gochujang Sauce?
I have whisked together gochujang, gochugaru, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, brown sugar /coconut sugar, and dark soy sauce to form a delicious sauce.
Later, it is cooked with aromatics and lots of scallions to create a wonderful sauce mix. Crispy paneer is tossed in the sauce to make the most delicious gochujang paneer.
