Rigatoni Tomato Cream Pasta.Easy and delicious weeknight dinner under 30 minutes of your time. Al dente rigatoni pasta is coated with the most luscious flavor, tomato sauce. Adding any cheese or cream gives a certain richness to the dish, is a crowd-pleaser, and is quite popular with kids.
Pasta recipes are perfect for busy weeknights, and a few easy recipes are always suitable. I always find Pasta an excellent after-school filling food. That takes care of hunger pangs after a day full of physical activities. It gives much-needed comfort and warmth.
Ingredients required to make this dish,
Rigatoni Pasta- Mostly, I use trader Joe's, Organic Pasta.
Tomato Sauce/Crushed Tomato
Heavy Cream- Use cashew Cream for vegan substitute
Salt, Crushed black pepper, red pepper flakes.
Basil(If you have fresh ones)
Vegetarian Parmesan for garnish. (optional)
What is Rigatoni?
Rigatoni is a tube-shaped pasta, slightly more significant, and has ridges outside. This pasta is quite popular in southern Italy. The shape of this pasta helps soak all the good flavors of sauce without being too soft or mushy. It's fun and delicious. Readily available in almost all grocery stores. However, you can always replace this with your choice of pasta.
How to cook Pasta?
Cooking any pasta is tricky; if it's rigatoni, you must be more careful about the texture. Al dente texture makes any pasta taste great, and rigatoni is no exception. Al dente means it has to have a bite. Soft pasta without any chew texture is not considered technically correct.

Rigatoni Tomato Cream Pasta
- 8 Oz Organic Rigatoni
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Butter/Olive oil(for vegan alternative)
- 1 Small Onion Diced
- 8 Oz Tomato Sauce/Crushed Tomato
- ⅓ Cup Heavy Cream/Cashew Cream(for vegan alternative)
- ½ Cup Pasta Water
- Salt to taste
- ½ Tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- ¼ Tsp Crushed black Pepper
- ½ Tsp Italian Seasoning
- Basil Leaves(Optional)
- Vegeterian Parmesan (Optional)
- Take a pan and heat butter in it. Add minced garlic and red pepper flake to it .
- Add tomato sauce or crushed tomato to it ,mix and let it cook for around 2-3 minutes or till it releases butter/oil.
- Add crushed black pepper, salt, Italian herb seasoning, and cream to the pan.
- Let it cook for around a minute or two. Add basil leaves at this point(if using)
- Add cooked al dente pasta to the pan and mix with the sauce. Make sure the pasta is coated nicely with the sauce.
- Add ½ pasta water to the pan.
- Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes on low flame .
- Garnish with some cheese(optional) and serve with some crusty bread.
