How to Prepare Pumpkins for Roasting in the Air Fryer?
Wash and dry the pumpkin. I have not peeled the skin as I love the caramelized edges so much. However, it depends on personal preference as well.
Cut long medium slices of pumpkin. They should not be very thin, because they tend to burn easily in the air fryer.
Make a simple marinade of olive oil, minced garlic, crushed black pepper, salt, and paprika. Coat the pumpkin wedges well with the marinade and leave them on the counter till you are preheating the air fryer.
Place pumpkin wedges in the basket of the air fryer in a single layer. If your air fryer is small, you can do it in batches.
Air fry the pumpkins for 10-12 minutes or till they are perfectly tender and caramelized to your taste.
Turn them over or shake the basket once in between. Transfer the roasted pumpkin to a plate or bowl to enjoy.
How to Cook/Roast Pumpkin in the Oven?
Preheat the oven to 425 F. Stick the parchment paper to a large baking tray. Marinate the pumpkin with olive oil mixed with spices and herbs. Spread the pumpkin in one layer. Cook the pumpkin till it looks tender and caramelized.

For sweeter pumpkins, use brown sugar or maple syrup to coat them.
For different flavorings, you can use harissa spice, cajun seasoning, or any curry powder.
Italian seasoning can be used for a unique and delicious taste.
Air Fryer Pumpkin
- 1 Lb Pumpkin, sliced into wedges
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tsp Minced Garlic/Garlic Powder
- 1 Tsp Paprika
- ½ Tsp Crushed Black Pepper
- Pinch of salt
- Peel and slice the pumpkin into wedges.
- Transfer them into a big bowl.
- Add the olive oil and all the seasoning.
- Toss them to coat them with the seasoning.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 f.
- Arrange the pumpkin in a single layer.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes while turning them in between.
- Remove them onto a plate and enjoy.
