Air fryer potato coins are a great alternative to any type of potato fries. They are crispy, crunchy and absolutely delicious. Vegan and kid-friendly, this under 20-minute recipe is a total crowd-pleaser.

Since I was a kid, I have loved these potato coins. My grandmother used to make them for us. As a kid, we never wanted to eat green vegetables and always asked for potatoes.
My mother was quite firm with food, and we had to finish our greens and lentils. The only bonus was that most of the time she made sure we had potatoes on our plate, especially these coins.
She used to make these in a wok or Indian style kadhai. It was crisp on the edges and creamy in the middle. She used to coat them simply with salt and turmeric. It was delicious in the true sense. Classic and quite simple.

What Ingredients are Needed for this Recipe?
Potatoes- I always prefer Yukon gold potato or red potatoes for coins or discs. They have a smooth texture and have comparatively clean skin. Air frying them doesn't take much effort or time.
Turmeric Powder- Who doesn't like the golden hue of turmeric powder? Being an Indian, using turmeric in everything is in my DNA. It has amazing health benefits as well.
Research shows that using turmeric in your diet every day reduces the risk of Alzheimer's and many more diseases.
However, using them in less quantity is the key. Remember if you are using them in large amounts your dish may become bitter in taste.
Red Chili Powder- You cannot escape spice if the recipe is Indian. I love to use Kashmiri red chilli powder since it has less heat and a bright colour.
Salt and oil are the usual staples in this recipe.
The use of garlic powder is optional. You can use minced garlic as well. I sometimes do and sometimes, I don't prefer to. So, it's totally optional for anybody.
How to Serve Air Fryer Potato Coins-
Make them in large quantities otherwise you won't get a chance to serve these bad boys. They are so delightful that most of the time I eat them before serving the first batch and then I have to make them again.
So just for the convenience of your time, make them in good quantity and serve with a dip of your choice.

Air Fryer Potato Coins
Ingredients
- 2 Medium Yukon Gold Potatoes
- ½ Tsp Turmeric Powder
- ½ Tsp Red Chili Powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil

- Peel the potatoes and wash them properly.
- Slice them into thin discs.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350 F.
