Chewy, thick, slurpy, and quick-cooking udon noodles are perfect for any recipe. I like using them for several other recipes, but this is one of my favorites. You can always add a few of your favorite vegetables and Spices to the sauce or reduce them if needed.
What type of Udon Noodles are we using?
There are several types of udon noodles. Some are dry, some are fresh, and a few are semi-cooked. I am using pre-cooked and vacuum-sealed udon noodles. They are easy to cook and take only a fraction of the time.
What Ingredients are needed?
Udon Noodles- I used one packet of udon noodles from Trader Joe's. That is semi-cooked and takes only a few minutes to cook.
Butter /oil-For cooking the noodles.
Scallion and red peppers -To enhance the flavor.
Aromatics- Lots of minced or chopped garlic.
Sauce- Soy Sauce, chili crisp, chili oil, or chili sauce.
Sesame seeds and sugar are the additional ingredients.
Can we store these cooked noodles?
Yes, but of course, not more then one or two days. In my opinion, cooked and stored noodles are as tastier as fresh ones. You can prep everything in advance and cook it once you want to eat . In that scenario, preparing it will take more than 7-8 minutes.
