Instructions
How to make dal in the Instant Pot
Wash and drain the dal /lentil.Cook them on high pressure for 6 minutes with water,turmeric powder and salt.
Let it release the steam naturally. Remove the lid and whisk dal to make it smooth.
Take a pan. Heat the pan with oil.Add sliced onion and green chili to it.
Add turmeric powder,red chili powder and salt.
Add chopped raw mango to the pan and saute.
Cook it on a slow flame while covering it with a lid. Add one cup of water so that cooking process will become fast and it wont burn.
Mango shouldn't be cooked too much .It should have a bite.
How to do the tempering
Take a small pan for tempering. Add oil and heat.
Add mustard seeds ,asafoetida powder,black lentils ,cumin seeds,dry red chili ,chili powder,and curry leaves.Let everything crackle
Pour this aromatic tempering on the raw mango dal.
MIx and serve with steaming bowl of rice.Enjoy.
