- Take a heavy bottom pan and heat the ghee in it.
- Roast the makhana /fox nuts till they are crispy and golden .Do not let them get brown.
- Remove them on a plate.Dry roast all the dry fruits in the same pan .
- Now add milk and let it come to a boil .Reduce the flame and add mawa powder to it .
- Stir it in between to avoid lumps and sticking to the bottom.
- Add makhana and mix with the milk mixture .Add saffron soaked in one tbsp of milk now.
- Add crushed cardamom to the pan.
- Mix all the dry fruits and stir again.When you think it comes to almost a thick consistency ,which will take around 20 to 30 minutes.Add sugar and stir.
- Let it cook for a few minutes and switch off the flame.
- Take out in a serving bowl.
- Garnish with rose petals and dry fruits(leftover).
- Serve hot or cold.
- I like mine chilled for at least four hours in the fridge.
- Flavors get develop by keeping them in the fridge overnight as well.
- Enjoy.
