Bok Choy With Garlic & Soy Sauce

Crunchy and juicy baby bok choy with lots of garlic, soy sauce and sriracha. It's hot and spicy, with a wonderful umami flavour. A simple 20-minute recipe for the perfect restaurant-quality side dish on any day of the week. A must-try recipe for greens and Asian food lovers. In addition, this dish is vegan and gluten-free.

Ingredients
  

  • 5 Baby bok choy, slice each into two parts.
  • 5 Cloves Chopped Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Avocado Oil
  • ¼ Tsp Crushed black pepper
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 Small Thai Chili, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sriracha Sauce
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

  1. Bring a big pot of salted water to boil. When it starts boiling add bok choy and remove immediately. Drop it in a big pot of ice water. This process is called blanching and it stops the cooking process.
  2. Take a skillet and heat oil over the stove.
  3. Add chopped garlic and Thai chillies to it.
  4. Saute till it's aromatic and golden.
  5. Add soy sauce and sriracha sauce. Stir it for 30 seconds and add bok choy to the pan.
  6. Carefully turn them and make sure they are well coated with sauce.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy with a side of your choice!!!
