Beans Kara Poriyal/ Easy Beans poriyal

Ingredients
  

  • 500 Gms Green Beans
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 Small Onion
For tempering
  • 8-10 Curry Leaves
  • 1 Tsp Urad dal/Lentil
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
For Spice Mix
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 3 Medium Dried red Chili
  • ¼ Roasted Peanuts
  • ¼ Coconut(dry or fresh)
Other Ingredients,
  • ½ Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 Tbsp Water( on need basis)

Method
 

  1. Wash ,dry and chop the green beans.
  2. Prepare the spice mix.
  3. Take a heavy bottom pan or wok.Add oil and heat it.
  4. Add all the stuff for tempering like mustard seeds ,urad dal and curry leaves.Let them crackle .
  5. Add chopped onion and saute till it looks transparent.
  6. Add green beans ,turmeric powder and salt to this.
  7. Mix together and cook covered for 2 minutes or till beans are cooked till they have a bite left left.They look dry add one or two tbsp of water.
  8. Now add the grounded spice mix and saute the beans with it.Make sure beans are coated well the spices.
  9. The green Beans kara Poriyal is ready to eat.
  10. Enjoy with rice or roti.
