How to cook in the Instant Pot
- Turn on the saute button and add olive oil when it displays hot.
- Add onion, garlic and saute till the raw smell is gone and it feels aromatic.
- Add farro and saute for one minute ,this process make sure farro has a lovely nutty taste.
- Add carrot ,white beans and stir once.
- Add tomato puree /sauce/veg stock/water to the pot and stir to mix everything.
- Add salt ,crushed pepper ,red pepper flakes and Italian seasoning to it.
- Turn off the saute button and put the lid on.
- Pressure cook for 6 minutes. Carefully release the pressure by turning the steam valve to the venting position.
- Remove the lid and taste the soup.You can adjust the seasoning and thickness.
- Serve hot with bread or croutons.
On a stove top
- Take a deep pan or dutch pan.
- Heat oil in it.Add onion and garlic and saute till the raw smell is gone.
- Add farro and saute for a lovely nutty aroma and taste.
- Add carrot and white beans and stir once.
- Furthermore add tomato puree sauce and all the seasoning.
- Cook it covered till farro and vegetables are cooked according to your taste but still have that bite left.That will take around 10 minutes.
- You can always increase or decrease the thickness according to your choice.
