Pahadi Cucumber Raita

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Medium English Cucumber grated
  • 2 Cups Yoghurt
  • 1 Tsp Yellow Mustard Powder
  • salt,according to the taste
  • ¼ Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ Tsp Red Chili Powder (you can increase the quantity a little bit if you want)
  • ¼ Cup Mint leaves
  • ½ Cup Cilantro Leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 1 Tsp Ginger
  • 4 Garlic
  • 2 Fresh Green Chilies

Method
 

  1. Grate the cucumber.
  2. Whisk the yogurt to make it smooth and lump- free.
  3. In a mortar pestle or small grinder make a paste of cilantro ,mint ,green chilies,ginger ,garlic and yellow mustard.
  4. Add red chili powder,turmeric powder, and salt to the yogurt.
  5. Mix all the herb mix paste and ensure everything is incorporated nicely.
  6. Add grated cucumber to the yogurt mix.
  7. Add mustard oil to the raita. Stir it. Taste and add something if needed.
  8. The consistency should be thick like a dip . It shouldnt be runny.
  9. Transfer the raita into a glass bowl or wooden bowl.
  10. Enjoy.
