- For the Dal
- Wash the Dal and cook the dal with salt ,turmeric and water in the pressure cooker or instant pot ,till its done .
- After its done ,whisk it thoroughly for a even soup like texture.
- Keep it aside.
- In a large bowl take whole wheat flour,salt ,turmeric ,Ajwain ,fenugreek leaves and chili powder . Mix it properly and with the help of water make a nice supple dough.
- Cover it with a damp cloth and keep aside .
- After 15 minutes take the dough ,make small balls out of it and make small pitthis or dulhan like the pics is shown . If you want you can use your own shape as well.
- Add one by one these pitthis in the dal then add one cup of water and let it cook for 4 minute in instant pot or till 2 whistles in pressure cooker . you can make this in patila as well.
- Take a small pan or wok for tempering .
- Add ghee. Heat it.
- Add cumin seeds ,Dry red chilies,asafoetida,onion ,ginger and garlic .
- Fry it nicely .
- Add hari mirch and cilantro leaves.
- If you want to do double tadka . you can do that with one table spoon of ghee and ½ tsp of red chili powder . don't burn the chili powder though otherwise it will change its color to brown or black. .
- If you want you can use little lemon juice as well .
- Garnish with cilantro leaves and taste the seasoning.
- Serve it warm .
