- Wash and dry the raw mangoes. Peel them and grate them with a box grater or food processor.
- Add salt and turmeric to them and leave them for 20 minutes. They will release water.
- Now add sugar to the same mixture and leave for 30 more minutes or till sugar melts completely.
- Heat a pan and add the raw mango mixed with sugar juice. Let it cook till the mangoes looks glossy or the sugar string consistency is one wire.
- Let it cool on the counter.Add whole cinnamon sticks and cloves to the mango.At this time you need to add kashmiri red chili powder as well.
- Mix well and when it totally comes to room temperature,store in a glass or ceramic container . Use when required.
