Chundo Recipe /Sweet Mango Pickle

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Grated Mango
  • 3 Cup Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ½ Tsp Turmeric
  • 1 2 inch Cinnamon
  • 4 Cloves
  • ½ Tbsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry the raw mangoes. Peel them and grate them with a box grater or food processor.
  2. Add salt and turmeric to them and leave them for 20 minutes. They will release water.
  3. Now add sugar to the same mixture and leave for 30 more minutes or till sugar melts completely.
  4. Heat a pan and add the raw mango mixed with sugar juice. Let it cook till the mangoes looks glossy or the sugar string consistency is one wire.
  5. Let it cool on the counter.Add whole cinnamon sticks and cloves to the mango.At this time you need to add kashmiri red chili powder as well.
  6. Mix well and when it totally comes to room temperature,store in a glass or ceramic container . Use when required.
  7. Enjoy.
