Chinese Garlic Green Beans

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 .5 lb Green Beans
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 6 Big Cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes

Method

  1. Chop/snap the ends of the green beans. If they are long, chop them into two.
  2. Dry them off with a kitchen towel or paper towel, otherwise, the oil will splatter and there is a risk of burning. It's better to keep them on the back burner of the stove.
  3. When the oil is quite hot, fry a batch of green beans until they have blisters or wrinkles. It will take not more than one/one and a half minutes.
  4. Transfer beans from the wok to the plate lined with a paper towel. Use tongs or strainer for that.
  5. Carefully pour all the hot oil from the wok to a bowl. Leave one tbsp of it in the wok.
  6. If you do not want to handle hot oil, wait for it to cool down or cook in a different pan using one tbsp of oil.
  7. Heat the pan and cook the minced garlic for about one minute till it looks light brown and the oil turns aromatic. Add fried beans to the pan.
  8. Sprinkle some salt to taste, crushed pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Mix everything with beans and serve them hot.
  10. Enjoy your Chinese garlic green beans with any main of your choice or just like that.
