Shahi Cigar/Shahi Tukda

Gulkand and coconut flakes stuffed inside a rolled bread slice and shaped like cigar. After frying, they are served with Saffron Rabdi.

  • 8 Slices White Bread(you won't get the desired crisp texture in any other bread)
  • 6 Tbsp Gulkand
  • 2 Tbsp Coconut flakes
  • Desi Ghee for frying the cigars.
  • For Making the Rabdi
  • 3 Cups Whole milk
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 8-10 Strands of Saffron
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar(you can increase or decrease the quantity according to your taste.
  • 1 Tbsp Pistachio (for garnishing)


  • Cut all the sides of the bread.
  • Roll each one of them .Make them thin.
  • Fill each bread with gulkand and coconut flakes.
  • Make it like cigar . Close both ends properly ,otherwise while frying filling will come out.
  • Fry it in desi ghee till it look pink and crisp.
  • How to Make Rabdi
  • Boil milk and cream together till they are thick .
  • Add crushed saffron to it . You can soak it in 2 tbsp warm milk as well.
  • Milk will look thick and golden yellow.
  • Add sugar to it .
  • Serve Fried cigar rolls and rabdi drizzled over it .
