This recipe of Tandoori Shrimp is a keeper. My kids love seafood, especially my son, so for an after-school snack, I thought about making this easy and flavourful shrimp.
This shrimp is marinated in homemade tandoori masala with yoghurt. I will always suggest marinating it for an hour, but if you don’t have that much time, you can marinate it for at least 15 minutes. The result will be simply mind-blowing if you do it longer. Then, grill it on charcoal or your stove-top griddle. The flavour will be juicy, spicy and delicious.
Making of marinade-
Shrimp- 15, medium sized
Greek yoghurt- 1/2 cup
Turmeric- 1/2 teaspoon
Kashmiri red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Ginger -garlic paste- 1 teaspoon
Garam masala- 1/2 teaspoon
Salt -1/2 teaspoon or according to taste.
Mix everything together.
Combine shrimp with marinade and leave for an hour.
The grilling of Shrimp-
I have used a stove-top griddle and applied very little oil with a brush.
If you want to use wooden skewers, dip them in water for at least 30 minutes.
Grill it on both sides for around 7-8 minutes. Your grilling time can vary according to your grilling method and preference. I like char-grilled Shrimp so I kept it like this.
Note – I have not used any artificial colour because I don’t prefer. If you want, you can use it.
