This Diwali I am trying to cut back on oily snacks .... well not completely true but I would like to reduce it for sure. Recently at home, we are trying lots of millets and whole grains so while making the Mathri which is a really popular north Indian tea time snack I thought of using different flours.
With Ragi and Jowar flour, this Mathri is super healthy, filling and tasty. The first trial run went smoothly. Everybody at home liked it and the next thing I will do is to make a huge batch in the coming week.
Ingredients-
Whole wheat flour-1 cup
Jowar flour-1 cup
Ragi flour-1 cup
Dry kasoori methi leaves-¼ cup
Salt-1 teaspoon
Amchoor powder-1 teaspoon
Red Kashmiri chilli powder-1 teaspoon
Ajwain seeds -½ teaspoon
Kalonji (black caraway ) seeds -½ teaspoon
¼ cup of canola oil.
Recipe-
Mix everything together and make a dough out of it with the help of water. The dough should not be very thick or thin.
Make same size dough balls with the help of cookie scooper.
Prick it with help of a fork or make a design out of it.
Assemble it in even layer in a baking tray.
Bake it for 3--35 minutes on 350f.
Check it once or twice during the baking process.
Remove it from the oven.
Enjoy it with a cup of tea or coffee.
