I love mousse and let me tell you no dessert can beat the velvety and creamy texture of mousse. There are so many types of mousse but summer calls for a dessert that is fresh and light. Strawberry mousse is one of those desserts.
Today I am going to share an easy recipe for eggless strawberry mousse, with a little twist. Here I am using strawberry in two forms. First, I am going to make the puree and mix it with whipped cream. Later I will top that with strawberry compote.
1 cup of fresh strawberry cut into small chunks
1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cups of water
1 small piece of cinnamon
Mix all of these ingredients together and put it on the gas stove. In a few minutes, you can see that the strawberries and sugar will melt and will be combined in no time. The consistency of your compote should be of a sauce type. Now remove from stove and keep in the fridge to cool off.
For whipped cream…
One and a half cups of heavy whipping cream
Whip the cream so that it becomes fluffy and airy.
Take 1/2 cup of fresh strawberry and turn it in to puree with the help of a blender.
Add one table spoon of confectioners sugar in the cream.
Add strawberry puree and fold it gently. Don’t overmix otherwise air bubbles will be gone and texture will be lost.
Serve in dessert glass or bowl with layers of compote. You can be really creative with this. Before serving, keep this in the refrigerator for at least two-three hours.
This is such a simple make-ahead party dessert. Please do try and share your experience.
