Nothing can beat the aroma of freshly baked bread. This morning my whole house was infused in the fragrance of bread, basil pesto and fresh mozzarella cheese. Recently I made a huge batch of Basil pesto so I thought of using that to flavour the bread. You can be creative with this and use so many types of sauces or jams. We can even bake these in a totally Indian style like adding peas, potato and paneer. The possibilities are endless, my friends. Have some fun in the kitchen while baking this.
The recipe is pretty basic for bread…..depending on your need increase or decrease the quantity and according to your yeast make the dough.
TWO AND HALF CUPS OF FLOUR
ONE CUP OF WATER
ONE SACHET OF INSTANT YEAST
ONE TABLE SPOON OF OLIVE OIL
HALF TEASPOON OF SALT
Mix olive oil with water and warm this in the microwave oven for one minute.
Mix yeast with flour.
Knead the dough with this mixed liquid of oil and water.
After making it in ball type shape keep it in the warm place for around 45 minutes.
It will rise and almost be double in size.
DIVIDE IT into two parts and roll the dough on flat surface.
Spread the pesto on it and twist it into a shape of your choice. You can make pinwheels or different shapes. I decided to go fancy and made a braided bread.
Add mozzarella cheese into the grooves of the bread.
Apply some olive oil on the top with the help of a silicone brush.
Bake in the oven for around 20 minutes at 400 f.
Don’t forget to preheat the oven.
Note: Your bake time can vary depending on your oven.
